So I’ve got this back room which has, so far, been used mostly for the laundry machines and as a big closet for things that just need to be thrown somewhere. It was the kind of room that’s too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter, so what else are you going to use it for!?
Well, I decided I was going to turn it into my studio, so I had my faithful handyman, Ron, come and give me a hand to isolate everything. We were going to start with opening the floor since it was clear we needed to check the structure. Wouldn’t you know it that this whole part of the building is resting on nothing but rotten wood!? Ah the joys of Montreal sometimes. It’s only 3 floors being sustained by fleeting wood, is all.
Now I’m waiting so an engineer comes tomorrow early to check it out and tells us what to do…. The rest in a few days then. Wish me luck!
