Did you know that insomnia can be directly related to a fear of letting go?

Control

You’re pretty much telling yourself (or your unconscious is):
“I live in insecurity, and I want to have control over everything that’s going on in my life.”

That’s why you’re going ‘round and ‘round in your mind. All these thoughts, even if they’re not real, keep you alert. Sometimes it can go deep into anguish and paranoia because it stems from past trauma.

Alone with your thoughts

It’s also possible that you’re experiencing high nervousness and that you can’t take a position or make a decision.  When you go to sleep, you’re alone, it’s only you with you. There are no more kids, no more partner, no more colleagues, you’re cut off from this external world, and you only hear what’s inside of you.

Lack of Trust

It also shows a certain lack of trust that you have in yourself and in others. So you think that you don’t deserve (in general) and  that nothing good can ever happen. Which then can be declined to the basic fear of death. Your unconscious thinks that if it goes to sleep it can die.  The uncertainty of nighttime, the dark…

Guilt

Insomnia can also be related to a strong guilt, whether conscious or not. Do you feel like you don’t deserve to rest? Is it because you feel guilty because you feel unsuccessful in your life?  or maybe because you don’t feel like you’re doing everything for your children? What makes you feel guilty?

Waste of time?

You could also have programmed yourself into thinking that sleeping is a waste of time

Self-Love

Sleep is highly related to your thymus gland and to the heart energy. So it can also definitely be related to the capacity of loving yourself. And to trust love in general, and therefore… Life.
What do you love about yourself? Do you trust in Life?

Physical side of things

On a physical level, there are a number of factors that need to be considered to be able to hone in on to what would help you sleep better. That being said, a few things that can help are Magnesium (I prefer bisglycinate or glycinate), Neurohacker makes a great supplement called “Night“, CBD can be amazing, Passion Flower Extract can also help manage stress better.
There are so many things to explore before supplementing however.

How you spend your day also can greatly affect your night:
🕺🏼 Do you move your body?
💧 Do you drink enough water (filtered preferably)?
😎 Do you get enough sun light?
👯‍♂️ Do you have supportive interactions with others?
🥦 Do you eat foods that are free (or close to free) of chemicals? Do you eat foods that make you feel good? If you eat and you feel sluggish afterwards, look at what you ate, try to remove it from your diet for a couple weeks, and see how it affects you.
💩 But the biggest question I ask everyone who comes to me: how’s it going? Meaning how are your stools? If you don’t eliminate properly, nothing else will be working well enough.

Your body is a well designed miracle machine that sometimes gets out of whack, but that is intelligent enough to send you signals just like the dashboard of your car. If it is telling you it can’t sleep, or there is a pain somewhere, or trouble going to the bathroom, whatever it tells you, listen to it, try to find the source of the message, so you can support yourself better.

Off to you

Now that you have all these mind and body questions, which make you feel most uncomfortable? Maybe those are the ones that need exploring….
